Our Cabinetry Process
In order to provide an estimate, we ask for a simple sketch or guesstimate of your kitchen cabinetry and appliance placement. We encourage customers to use a tape measure for measurements, with precision to the closest half-inch. Submit your measurements with a sketch of your cabinetry/appliance layout in pdf format HERE. We are not asking for perfection on your sketch.
To see a sample sketch, please click HERE.
NOTE: In your sketch, please include door opening measurements, window and appliance location and measurements, and ceiling height. Your measurements do not need to be exact. One of our trained professionals will set an appointment to measure your kitchen after you give the go ahead.
Our design specialist will create a CAD drawing from our software to be sent to you. With the drawing, you will receive an estimate with the projected cost for your project.
NOTE: Once you receive the estimate, let us know if you want to move forward with the project.
NOTE: If cost is a concern, our design specialist can assist in making adjustments to fit your budget.
Initial Meeting & Measurements
Once you give us the go ahead, there are two options for proceeding:
1: Set an appointment to visit our showroom. We can walk you through our different cabinetry lines in person. Our showroom currently has an example of each of our four main lines of cabinetry displayed in different colors, as well as samples of all our wood and color options. We also have sink and faucet displays and color swatches for you to select. At this appointment, we ask that you bring anything to help our design specialist coordinate your selection with the colors of your space. Some items that are helpful to bring include flooring and tile samples and a paint swatch. If you do not have those items, our design specialists can walk you through all of our selections.
2: Set an appointment for us to come to you. We can bring our portable cabinetry display for you to select from different styles and colors of cabinetry. We are also able to bring color swatches and high resolution pictures of sink, faucet and tile backsplash options. At this appointment one of our professionals may elect to do rough field measurements to assist the project estimate.
NOTE: We get a mixture of people who are very specific about the designs they want and people who are looking for guidance. No project is too big or small for us to handle. In either instance, you will have a design specialist to guide the process.
NOTE: We ask for a signature or email verification approving the estimate in order to move forward with your project.
If NOT working with a contractor, we will set another appointment to come to your home for measurements. One of our trained professionals will ensure your cabinetry is accurately measured, giving note to the details of the space such as door openings and window dimensions. Otherwise, the contractor supplies us the measurements.
After selections are made and measurements are taken, our design specialist will precisely fine tune the details and dimensions of your project. You will receive an updated CAD drawing and finalized cost of your project. We require a signed contract or email confirmation to move forward with your project.
NOTE: When NOT working with a contractor, a payment for 100% of the total cabinetry cost is required before your order is placed.
Generally, it takes 2 to 3 weeks for JSI and 4 to 6 weeks for WW Wood Products to create and deliver your cabinetry. The manufacturer will contact us when your order is ready for shipment. Once we receive the ship date for your order, we will call you to set up delivery and an installation date.
Installation takes 1 to 5 business days depending on the size of your project. We send a team of 1 to 3 skilled professionals to your home. The majority of our cabinetry installations are set as morning appointments to maximize the time in your home and minimize the number of days for installation.
Customers or contractors can choose to have us do the removal of existing cabinetry or have this complete upon our arrival. Once the old is out, we place the new cabinetry into their appropriate positions and secure it to the walls.
NOTE: If you are doing both cabinetry and countertops through Wallstone, the template for your countertops cannot be done until the new cabinetry is set. From the time of template to countertop installation is 7 to 15 days. The countertop installation takes 1 to 5 business days depending on the size of the project. After the countertops are set, backsplash can be installed if you are electing to do so.
NOTE: Project balance is due the day of completion.
